      Hoovers Online Database

        Profiles of America's best known companies are provided. Additional information is available on 8500 companies, searchable by ticker symbol, location, or company name. The site also includes profiles on international companies.

      EDGAR

        Electronic data gathering, analysis, and retrieval. It contains a databas eof filings from the S.E.C. The electronic repository of all the disclosure documents that publicly traded companies file. Here is a commercial provider of SEC filings that apparently offers easier access to the same data but for a price.

      C.I.A. Publications Page

        Explore several publications (i.e.: World Fact Book) that provide facts and statistics. Includes key word searches.

      Thomas Register

        You can search by company name, brand name, or product category to find some basic information about companies.  It indicates whetheror not the companies offer literature by fax, phone, or on the web. While you have to register at least the service is free.

      American Express Small Business Network

        This site provides helpful articles for the full range of business topics such as managing people, dealing with taxes, incorporating, and marketing.

      Statistics.com

        If you want to learn more about statistics itself or statistical information about a variety of topics, this a good place to start. In particular, the section on Business/Economics would be helpful in projects on B2B marketing.
